Marco Magistro bronze at the Italian Mountain Running Students

Great appointment with the mountain race on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May in Lanzada, in the province of Sondrio, which hosted the Italian Championships for the Absolute, Promise and Junior categories. The race was also valid as the first stage of the Italian Club Championships of the same categories (with the second stage scheduled for 15 September in Casnigo, in the province of Bergamo).

Excellent performance for Marco Magistro (2008, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) that in the Italian mountain running category Students on a 4 km route with a height difference of 260 m he ranked 3rd. The performance confirms the excellent form of the boy who had already made a very good impression at the Fénis Vertical by winning the overall regional title and finishing 14th. Davide Gadin (2008, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) placed 30th with a time of 24’05”, while Riccardo Chiolerio (2008, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) is 33rd in 24’32”.

The categories competed on the 13km route with 600m of altitude difference Sen/Pro both male and female. In the race won by Cesare Maestri (Atl. Valli Bergamasche Leffe) the first Aosta Valley was Henri Aymonod (1996, US Malonno) placed 6th with a time of 54’31”. In the category championships Juniors male Etienne Verraz (2006, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) is the best among the Valle d’Aosta, finishing 19th in 33’13” on the 7km route with 300m of altitude difference. According to the Aosta Valley people it is Riccardo Matergia (2005, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) who placed 38th in 35’34”. Mathieu Cretier (2006, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) is 42nd in 37’31”.

During the day of May 4th, the individual and club championships of the Pupils and Cadet categories and the regional mountain running championship were held on the routes of the Lanzada mountains.

The boys of 2009-2010 (category Cadets) faced each other along a 2500 m route with a 120 m difference in altitude. On an individual level, the best of the team was Christian Gabriele Pivot (2009, Atl. Sandro Calvesi) ranked 9th with a time of 11’02. Following Semi Mortara (2009, Atl. Sandro Calvesi) 25th in 11’41”, Luca Beltramelli (2010, Atletica Monte Rosa Fogu Arnad) 31st in 11’49, Aime Lombard (2009, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 57th in 12’29”, Emilien Ronc (2009, Atl. Pont Donnas) 69th in 12’47”, Giacomo Suquet (2009, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 75th in 13’08, Mattia Consol (2010, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 81st in 13’29” and Niccolò Bertino (2010, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 90th in 13’55”.

With 88 points the Cadets of the Atl. Sandro Calvesi finished fourth in the Cadet Society Championships ranking, 25th ATL. Monte Rosa Fogu Arnad (30 points), APD Pont-Saint-Martin 38th (7 points) and Atl. Pont Donnas 45eaima (1 point). The times of Pivot, Mortara and Ronc were taken into consideration for the Cadet Region Championship, thus bringing Valle d’Aosta to 5th place at the men’s level.

The Cadette they faced a slightly different route with a length of 2300 m and a height difference of 80 m. The team consisted of Julie Truc (2009, Atl. Cogne Aosta), the best of the girls coming 32nd in 12’32”, Giulia Framarin (2009, Atletica Cogne Aosta) 47th in 12’57”, Francesca Milani (2009, Atl. Cogne Aosta) who finished the race in 13’00 obtaining 49th position and Abigail Martinet (2010, Atl. Sandro Calvesi) who closed the race in 13’01” coming 50th.

The times obtained by Julie Truc, Francesca Milani and Abigail Martinet are valid for the regional championship and allow 34 points to be obtained and Valle d’Aosta to be classified 6th. The final men’s and women’s ranking sees Valle d’Aosta obtain 6th position.

On the 1200 m course of the Italian category championships Boys they competed Ian Ruffino (2012, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) placed 20th in 8’17”, Lorenzo Vairos (2011, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 32nd in 9’12”, Massimiliano Patracchini (2011, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 36th in 9’34” and Diego Scaramuccia (2012, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) 41st in 11’16”. Excellent positioning among girls Merilin Mortara (2011, Athletics Sandro Calvesi) who came 4th in 8’27”. 27th position for Ludovica Ferrari (2011, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) in 9’42” and 39th place for Aurora Mania (2011, APD Pont-Saint-Martin) in 10’32”.

In the eso8M category Ethan Ruffino (APD Pont-Saint-Martin) ranks 11th. In the eso10F category Giulia Bertino (Athletics Pont-Saint-Martin) is 20th.
