A Month Full of Literary Events

“May of Books” in Foligno: A Month Full of Literary Events

The municipal library offers a variety of activities to promote reading among citizens of all ages

During the month of May, the municipal library of Foligno is actively involved in promoting reading by participating in the national campaign “Il Maggio dei libri”, organized by the Center for books and reading. Scheduled events focus on a wide range of activities designed to capture the interest of various age and interest groups, demonstrating the vital role the library plays in the cultural fabric of the community.

A wide selection of appointments have been carefully planned for the month. On May 7, for example, children aged 2 to 6 are invited to participate in a story time, which will take place at 4.30pm in the children’s section of the library. This event represents an ideal opportunity to introduce young people to the world of books in a welcoming and stimulating environment.

The library also offers a series of educational and training meetings, among which stands out a conference dedicated to the cults and traditions of the month of May in Umbria. An art therapy workshop is planned to offer an interactive experience that combines art and psychological well-being. In addition, two specific meetings were organized for primary and secondary school teachers, focused on innovative strategies for promoting reading among students.

For younger people and their families, the program includes a creative writing workshop, which encourages the active participation of children and parents, while on May 25th special readings will be held for children, curated by the volunteers of the “Born to Read” program .

The Foligno library invites all interested parties to participate in these events. For more details on appointments or for any additional information, you can contact the library directly at the number provided.
