Use is voluntary but they could represent an additional weapon for healthcare workers to defend themselves from ever more frequent attacks. From 2 May the operators on duty on the advanced rescue vehicles working in the provinces of Monza Brianza and Bergamo are equipped with wearable bodycams.

The use of cameras, explains the Region, which has allocated 1.5 million for the projectis finalized “to guarantee the safety and protection of the safety of rescue workers”. 850 devices purchased which will be distributed throughout the region by the summerinstalled on advanced emergency vehicles, therefore medical vehicles, nursing cars and air ambulances and on basic emergency vehicles (ambulances of third sector bodies in agreement for 118).

The Regional Emergency Urgency Agency (AREU), awaiting the signing of trade union agreements regarding remote controls by the ASST/IRCCS and Third Sector Bodies, has for the moment delivered the wearable cameras to doctors and nurses already trained on their use.
