After the Aosta Valley tour, with screenings in Aosta, Cogne, Courmayeur and Saint-Vincent, which attracted 1,300 spectators, the film “Segnali di vita” (Italy, Switzerland/2023/106′) receives a prestigious award at the Trento Film Festival : the Audience Award for Best Feature Film – DAO.

The film, directed by the Sicilian director Leandro Picarellais produced by Qoomon with Rai Cinema in co-production with Soap Factory, with the executive production of L’Eubage from Valle d’Aosta and the support of the Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste.

History

Filmed at the Astronomical Observatory of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta and the Lignan Planetarium and in the Saint-Barthélemy valley, the fictional film follows the story of the astrophysicist Paolo Calcidese, who during the autumn moves into the structure as the sole custodian and inhabitant to carry out his scientific research and experiment with new technologies. Due to a technical accident, however, he is forced to put aside the stars and solitude to dedicate himself to other forms of life not previously considered: human beings.

Signs of life now it will return to Italian cinemas in the coming weeks, with various screenings in Rome, Milan, Agrigento, Messina, Mazara del Vallo, Palermo, Catania, Brescia, Sciacca (AG), Udine and Genoa.

Director

Leandro Picarella is a Sicilian director and screenwriter. Between 2010 and 2012 he made his first short films. Signs of Life (Qoomoon with Rai Cinema) is his third feature film, after Triokala (CSC Production, 2015) and Divinations (Qoomoon with Rai Cinema, 2020).
