2023 is an important year for Mercy of Florence which, during the meeting of the General Body approved the final balance sheet for last year.
On January 1, 2024, Mercy restored the night service in company and during 2023 agreed a new collective labor agreement for staff, as well as having laid the foundations of the new Constitutions of the organization.
The Superintendent of the Mercy of Florence Bernardo Basetti Sani Vettori he comments on the final balance sheet as follows: «Despite the difficulties we have been called to face, the Misericordia has always been, and still continues to be, a living and integral part of the city and its fundamental point of reference. Special thanks go to all the Brothers and Sisters who daily with commitment, passion, sacrifice and generosity always ensure the numerous and varied services are carried out.”
The numbers
Many services completed by the organization during 2023.
They amount to 34,479 medical transportsof which 11,674 emergency. As regards i civil protection and patient care services, 73 and 770 assignments were completed.
A fruitful year for the Mercy of Florence also for food aid. The families assisted in 2023 were in fact 751.
They arrived at 90 were also assisted by the tele-aid serviceof which 10 were also involved in the social assistance process.
Also the second edition of the initiative Adopt a bill it was a success with 189 bills paidfor a total of €23,592.
Not least the proceeds obtained from Sacravita group which, thanks to the markets, he managed to collect approximately €30,000. With this sum the Misericordia of Florence supported the costs of the rehabilitation of 4 boys with serious disabilities and 3 boys with diabetesin addition to buying school books for families with economic difficulties.
