There computer network of the University of Siena it’s close. This was reported by the University itself, which announced today, Monday 6 May, that it had suffered an attack by a group of hackers international.
“During the last weekend, the University suffered an attack on its network infrastructure – they explained from the University – on the morning of Monday 6 May it was therefore necessary to close the incoming and outgoing University network and ‘start of operations to verify and remediate the integrity of the infrastructurewith the simultaneous evaluation of any damage caused”.
The University’s IT representatives, therefore, are working alongside their colleagues fromTONational Cybersecurity Agencywith whom I am in constant contact. They are then preparing the necessary documents to lodge a complaint report to the Postal Police and for reporting toGuarantor Authority for the Protection of Personal Data.
“The network infrastructure – concluded the University note – will be gradually restored and will return to its normal functioning once full safety conditions have been ensured”.
