“The city of L’Aquila deserved more than any other place, like Matera, to be recognized as the Italian Capital of Culture. In 2026 the city will be able to see an important path of rebirth completed and the territory must be ready”. The Honorable Vittorio Sgarbian internationally renowned art critic, has always been linked to the city of L’Aquila which he considers to be its guardian “of precious treasures and fertile ground over the centuries for many artists”is nominated with Brothers of Italy at the next European elections on 8 and 9 June in the Southern Italy constituency. During his visit to the city he wanted to reiterate his support for its status as Capital of Culturerecognition obtained last March. “L’Aquila is a large city that suffered a great trauma in 2009 and, perhaps, more than any other, it deserved to be the Italian Capital of Culture. This could truly represent the moment of rebirth of the city which must be ready to represent the whole of Europe in 2026″. In this regard, he announced the collective intention to bring an exhibition to the city in 2026 on the Renaissance with Raffaello And Saturnino Gatti.
Present at the meeting with Sgarbi were, in addition to several city councilors representing the administration, the provincial coordinator of FdI, Claudio Gregorithe deputy Benedetta Fascianithe President of the Union of Municipalities and mayor of Sant’Eusanio Forconese, Deborah Visconti.
