Two accidents paralyze traffic

Two accidents that occurred this morning (Monday 6 May 2024) literally paralyzed traffic, sending traffic on the roads connecting the province to the city of Brescia into a tailspin.

Black Monday on the Brescia ring roads

The first accident, in chronological order, occurred along the Eastern ring road in the municipality of Castenedolo, near the Brescia Est toll booth of the A4 motorway. Four vehicles were involved and five people were involved: four men aged 36, 40, 47 and 71 respectively and a woman aged 55. The good news is that only one of the people involved reported some trauma but not serious. The local police intervened on site and managed the traffic. Long queues were recorded from the Fascia d’Oro locality up to the entrance of the SS45bis in the Mazzano area towards Valle Sabbia.

Western ring road

Another accident occurred around 8.30 am along the Western ring road near the Brixia Forum towards Castel Mella. Four vehicles were involved. Also in this case, fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. However, the accident made it necessary to close one lane. The formation of queues was inevitable and also involved the Southern ring road. The exact dynamics of the accident still remain to be clarified in detail, a task which falls to the local police officers also involved in traffic management.
