Last May 1st, the first round of the Italian youth Xco Cup was held in the setting of the splendid Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, organized by the ASD Racing Team Agrigento of the President Mirella Falco and the Regional Councilor Salvatore (Totò) D’Andrea.
More than 180 athletes showed up at the starting line, with 13 regional representatives and 35 teams. By just 5 points CR Lombardia (179 points) prevailed over Veneto (174) and preceded Alto Adige (161), Marche and Liguria, these ex aequo in fourth place (148). Followed by Puglia, Valle D’Aosta, Piedmont, Sicily 1, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Sicily 2, Tuscany, Lazio, Sicily 6, Sicily 5, Sicily 3, Sicily 4 and Basilicata.
The race was managed by an all-female jury with Giulia Laghi (President), Federica Guarniero (Finish Judge), Grazia Ziri (Secretary), Sonia Carta and Anna Alfano (Members). The six departures carried out at the foot of the splendid Temple of Juno were kicked off by various members of the National and Regional FCI structures. Also present was FCI deputy vice-president Carmine Acquasanta.
