The two alleged perpetrators of the fight with a stabbing that took place last Friday evening in Andria, in the historic centre, have been identified and arrested. These are two citizens of Romanian nationality. The agents of the Flying Squad of the BAT Police Headquarters, who intervened that evening near Piazza Porta la Barra, immediately noticed the presence of several people injured with cutting weapons and blunt objects. One of them, in particular, had been hit with a blow to the throat, fortunately not seriously. While two other people had been hit by a blunt object, one in the shoulder and the other in the head, the latter with more serious consequences to the point of requiring them to be transported to the emergency room of the “Bonomo” hospital in Andria. She got away with a thirty day prognosis. The brawl apparently started when one of the arrested people hit a fellow countryman with a work shovel (later found by the officers still covered in blood and seized). The reaction of the combatants in the brawl then led to the stabbing. As a result of the investigations, two ended up in handcuffs and are currently in prison. They will have to answer for aggravated brawl and attempted murder. A third person involved in the melee was released on bail for aggravated brawling. An affair that could have had far more serious consequences.
