Aci Avellino, vehicle safety and the road: meeting at the De Sanctis – D’Agostino institute

At the “De Sanctis – D’Agostino” school we discuss “Vehicle and road safety”. The appointment is for tomorrow 7 May at 9.30 at the Amatucci institute’s headquarters in Via Italia.

The conference, promoted by the Aci of Avellino in collaboration with the “De Sanctis – D’Agostino” school led by the director Pietro Caterini, will see the participation of students from the fourth and fifth classes.

The meeting is part of the road education initiatives promoted by the Automobile Club Avellino to develop awareness that when you are a road user (motorist, cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian) you must behave with the utmost prudence and raise awareness among the most young people on the real consequences that bad behavior on the street can cause.

The meeting will feature interactive lessons with a safe driving expert to simulate the causes and effects of road accidents and how to prevent them.

Road safety education is an important topic attributable to the concept of legality, civil and social respect. The objective is aimed, through correct training, at reducing the number of accidents. Road accidents are one of the main causes of death among young people under the age of 25.

Speeding, distracted driving and failure to respect signs are among the main causes of road accidents. Unfortunately, in the province of Avellino there is a worrying percentage increase in both collisions (+16%) and injuries (+15%).

The president of the Automobile Club of Avellino, Stefano Lombardi: “We need greater training and information, more awareness on the part of all road users that there are rights and duties, rules and prerogatives. Furthermore, better traffic management and more dedicated controls are necessary.”

Representatives of the police force will be present at the event, engaged daily in checks on the roads of Irpinia to prevent accidents.

During the meeting, data relating to accidents in Irpinia will be disclosed.

The event is open to all citizens.
