The whole Made in Italy agri-food sector is from tomorrow to May 10th on display in Parma, protagonist of Cibus, the international food exhibition that hosts more than 3,000 brands and more than 1,000 buyers. There 22nd edition in fact, it has visitors from markets such as the United States, Germany, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. 2024 will also be the year of the countries of the ASEAN area, with the return of China, the great absentee during the pandemic, and a delegation from Japan.

They are expected over 60 thousand visitors until Friday in the spaces of the Parma Fair where Cibus will present itself with 120,000 square meters of exhibition space distributed across eight pavilions where the entire Italian food sector is located. At the international food exhibition there is all the better than the main Italian agri-food sectors: fresh products, meats, cured meats, dairy, ready and frozen meals, as well as the grocery section, with pasta, preserves and condiments. The event is open from tomorrow from 9.30 to 18 every day except the last, Friday May 10thwhen the last entry allowed will be at 1pm and the event will close at 3pm.

New for the 22nd edition is the area “Food of ideas”, which will enhance the innovative drive of the exhibiting companies at the event. The space, at the entrance to pavilion 7 (West entrance), hosts some of Cibus’ successful areas, such as the Innovation Corner, the showcase of new products presented at the fair by exhibitors, and the Startup Area born in collaboration with Le Village of Crédit Agricole. For the first time at Cibus T-Own: a project that presents the ideas and initiatives implemented by agri-food companies for inform end consumers of the social, energetic and nutritional characteristics of individual products. There is no lack of a program conferences and initiatives dedicated to Authentic Italian Food&Beverage. The focus will involve three major thematic areas: the new balance between distribution and the branded industry, exploring the repercussions on the supply chain after the recent anti-inflation pacts; the protection and enhancement of traditional gastronomic heritage through the comparison of the different experiences and best practices of national and foreign consortia; the thematic itineraries in the Cibus spaces dedicated to Ho.Re.Ca. operators

Cibus will open tomorrow with the SOS launched by Coldiretti on Made in Italy agri-food, a moment in which i ministers Francesco Lollobrigida and Adolfo Urso. The appointment is from 9.30 in the Coldiretti/Filiera Italia space, where an exhibition will be set up in Pavilion 07-08 stand K 024 with the threats to Italian food which Coldiretti asks the future European Union that will emerge from the polls in June to defend, hoping for a change of pace compared to recent years. The challenges and priorities for Made in Italy will be at the center of the inaugural meeting, scheduled for 10.30 in the Coldiretti/Filiera Italia space.

From cheese produced in the mountains to biodiversity, from celebrations for the 90 years of the Consortium to initiatives for the valorisation of Geographical Indications, always keeping business at the centre: Parmigiano Reggiano returns to Cibus 2024 and will be present with a stand that will not only be there “Dairy Square”in which 35 producers will alternate, but also the epicenter of meetings with the stakeholders of the Italian and international trade and of the PDO events. “For Parmigiano Reggiano it is always an honor and a pleasure to participate in Cibus – said Nicola Bertinelli, president of the Consortium – For us it represents not only an international showcase and a privileged meeting place, but also and above all a stage from which we can tell to stakeholders, importers and the sector press the projects that the Consortium is undertaking, in particular in terms of sustainability, biodiversity and the valorisation of Geographical Indications. Finally, we believe it is the perfect framework to continue the celebrations for the 90 years of our Consortium, the oldest in Italy as regards food products, founded on 27 July 1934.
