Piacenza only knows how to win, they even beat Junior Parma in the derby

Piacenza’s magical moment did not fade even in the derby and so the red and whites beat Junior Parma twice (11-0 and 3-2) to climb to second place in the standings.

RACE1

JUNIOR 0-0-0-0-0-0-0 0

PIACENZA 0-4-4-3-0-0-X 11

Lineup: Carrasco 2b, Calderon ed/1b, Cetti ec, Loardi dh, D’Auria 1b (Ramirez ed), Marelli ss, Albasi es (Riviera), Torelli ric, Pancini 3b. Pitcher: Cufrè (rl7 bv2 bb0 k13 pgl0).

In the morning Piacenza wins in serenity especially because on the mound it can count on a luxury size Cufrè. Against him the Junior picks up crumbs and at times not even those. His shut-out is enhanced by 13 outs at the plate while the bases for balls remain unknown to the Parma players. In the first four attacks Piacenza always arrives with full bases, the first goes in vain but in the following ones D’Auria’s team spreads. At the 2nd a double along the line by Carrasco triggers the 2-0, a single by Calderon the 3-0 and finally the steal attempt by the latter protects Carrasco’s arrival at home plate for the 4-0. At the 3rd with Marelli on third base here is the missed ball to make it 5-0 but it doesn’t end there. That it is a bad day for the visiting pitchers is confirmed by three consecutive free bases which give as many points to Piacenza who can put the victory on ice (8-0). In the 4th the red and whites seal the large lead, bordering on manifest superiority (double by Pancini and single by Loardi). The 11-0 remains so until the 7th also because, as mentioned, a certain Cufrè is the one throwing who brings his good contribution for the early end of the match.

RACE2

JUNIOR 0-1-0-0-1-0-0-0-0 2

PIACENZA 0-0-1-2-0-0-0-0-X 3

Lineup: Carrasco 2b, Calderon ed, Cetti ec, Cufrè dh, D’Auria 1b, Marelli ss, Contardi es (Albasi, Carsana), Torelli 3b, Pancini ric. Pitchers: Sanna (rl3.1 bv1 bb1 k2 pgl0), Braccini (rl0.2 bv0 bb0 k1 pgl0), Lovattini (rl1 bv2 bb0 k0 pgl0), Lettieri (rl1 bv0 bb1 k1 pgl0), Naccarella (rl0.1 bv0 bb2 k1 pgl0), Loardi (rl2.2 bv0 bb1 k7 pgl0).

A few launches are enough to understand that race 2 will not be the same as the one in the morning. In the 2nd minute the Ducali found themselves in the lead for the first and only time of the day (1-0). Piacenza doesn’t falter, collects its ideas and in the 3rd, with a single in the center by Cetti, draws 1-1. The game was therefore closed and Piacenza began to take control in the 4th thanks to singles from D’Auria and Contardi followed by a wild throw (3-1). But the Junior is not of the same type as in the morning and in the 5th minute he reacts by shortening the score to 3-2. D’Auria manages the small margin by shuffling the cards on the mound with the alternation of four reliefs before Loardi’s decisive closure. By filling the bases in the 6th, the home team could ease their worries and instead the advantage remains a gap which however is enough to complete the day’s sweep.
