The former Mayor of Aversa, Alfonso Golia, has issued a note in which he explains the reasons why he decided to support Mauro Baldascino’s candidacy for Mayor in the June municipal elections: “Running myself as Mayor of Aversa – we read – was the most obvious, consequential and logical choice. I have never felt like the only man in charge, much less the center of the world.
I believe in participation and sharing, the latter I consider fundamental in politics. This is why – he continues – my “step to the side”: to work and create the conditions for a united centre-left that was a synthesis of values and not of interests and I did this despite being aware that giving up on putting myself forward again as a candidate for Mayor would have been a a very painful choice for me and for the group of friends with whom we have lived these intense years of administration and for many of you.
My commitment and my love for the city – he continues – go forward together with the civic movement “La Politica che Serve”, for which I ask everyone for electoral support and participation, a united group that stays together not for self-interest, but to build the best possible future for Aversa. With honesty, rigor, transparency and fairness.
Principles that have been the basis of my years as Mayor – we read again – at the same time values that I see in Mauro Baldascino, an exponent of the world of associations who has been committed for years to the promotion of legality in the fight against widespread forms of crime. Mauro will represent the center-left in the next elections and we will work hard to ensure that he is the next Mayor of Aversa.
Now I can dedicate – he continues – greater attention and presence to my family together with my wife Carolina. My daughter Annalucia was born when I was elected Mayor in 2019 and I missed very important years of her growth, the same was happening with little Gennaro. Those who have young children will understand me, just as I hope you will all understand the political motivations.
I love you, I thank you for these unforgettable years and I will continue to be present for all of you!
