Cremona. The most used traps for online solicitation are the internet, social networks and video games. And 2023 was the year in which the presence of child sexual abuse images on the web reached its highest point. However, the threats and problems derive not only from social media, but also from the use of artificial intelligence, as happens in 29% of cases. Among the regions from which the most requests for help were received is Lombardy (with 16%); ahead, only Veneto. Last March the Police carried out 21 searches in various provinces in Lombardy which led to the arrest of four people for possession of large quantities of child pornography and of a man who, for years, committed sexual abuse against two little girls , a relative of hers and her friend. Last November, however, a network to lure minors was broken up: 10 victims and one of the two arrested resided in the province of Cremona. In May a year ago, a 40-year-old IT technician from the province of Cremona ended up under house arrest on charges of producing child pornography and sexual acts with a minor under 14. At a national level, in 2023, 28,355 sites were analyzed overall by Postal specialists, of which almost 2,800 were included in the black list of sites containing representations of sexual exploitation of minors. Over 1,100 people identified and reported for downloading, sharing and exchanging photos and videos of sexual abuse against minors. Sexual extortion is on the rise, and the phenomenon of online solicitation is on the rise, although it mainly concerns the 10-13 age group. This is what emerges from the dossier drawn up by the Postal Police which, on the national day against pedophilia and child pornography, released the data of the activities carried out in Italy.
