Treviso, 5 May 2024 – Treviso is a rose-coloured emotion, an all-female thrill for a Sunday to remember: 10,579 women – an authentic pink river – were the protagonists of the tenth edition of an event that provided a spectacle, combining the fun of an entirely pink party and moments of reflection on important themes concerning the female universe. The watchwords, as always, are prevention and solidarity.

Calling it a race is even an understatement. Treviso in Pink it’s like this: you take it and interpret it however you want. There were those who dispensed smiles and greetings at every meter, not even thinking about running, and those – a minority, however – lengthened their stride without sparing a glance at the stopwatch. Some ran for a just cause, perhaps with the strength of a recently defeated illness, and some simply because it is beautiful to mix with thousands of other women, dance and paint the city pink.

There were little girls pushed in strollers by tired but smiling mothers. There were grandmothers with painted nails, colorful hats and the enthusiasm of little girls. There were memories of friends who are no longer with us. There were little dogs dressed in pink. There was female representation of entire families. An example? mom Laura (56 years old) and four daughters, Mariaelena (28 years), Aurora Maria (24 years), Marianna (19 years old) e Blessed (13 years). And then how can you not applaud grandmother Teresaborn in 1928, 96 years old, accompanied in a wheelchair by her friends?

The deejays of Radio Company, Leo And Gianluca Pacini, they transformed the Mura bastion into a large disco under the midday sun. There was the music of Michele Patatti in Borgo Cavour, the magic of the super photographed waders of the Barbamoccolo theater company and the imagination of BUB (BeFolky Hoopoe Band)a colorful traveling street band made up of young musicians who share a passion for music and wind instruments.

In the front row, at the start in Viale D’Alviano, the MEP Rosanna Contethe former ceremonial manager of the Province of Treviso, Giuliana Meneghettitoday presenter of etiquette and good manners courses. Silvia Furlanithe 63-year-old runner from Friuli suffering from multiple sclerosis, who brings her message of optimism and resistance to the disease to races throughout Italy, instead started early with her slow but tenacious pace, together with her friend Laura from Treviso.

And then the groups, so many, over 130. The councillors Gloria Sernagiotto, Rosanna Vettoretti, Gloria Tessarolo And Maria Teresa De Gregorio led the , a large female representation from the Municipality of Treviso. While the commissioner Manuela De Bernardin he was at the head of a large group of policewomen, wearing a pink shirt and an official cap: “There are about fifty of us, not only from the Police Headquarters but from all the State Police offices in the province. We participated to share, as women and as police officers, a day which is also a moment of reflection on safety issues”.

There were gyms, companies, parish groups, walking courses, yoga, pilates and zumba. There were groups from Ascom-Confcommercio, from the Treviso Emergency Department and from the Geriatrics department of Ca’ Foncello. And then the schools, from Besta to Palladio, from the Canossiane to the Stefanini, to the Casteller di Paese.

It was also the big day of LILT, arrived on the walls with the traditional camper, which made information material available on correct lifestyles, healthy eating and prevention education. The proceeds from Treviso in Rosa will be used to purchase a vehicle for transporting sick people to places of treatment.

The data provided by the vice president of the Treviso section of LILT, Nelly Mantovaniunderline the association’s commitment in this sense: “In 2023 – explains Mantovani – we accompanied over 600 patients to hospitals not only in Treviso and the province, deploying 200 drivers and 30 vehicles. The kilometers traveled to carry out the service were 476,218. Cars and minibuses need continuous replacement, which is why Treviso in Rosa’s donation is of great importance”.

Among the 10,579 registered for the 2024 edition of Treviso in pink, coming from 14 regions And 28 provincesthe largest group was precisely that of LILT, with 478 registered. In second place the San Martino di Lughignano Cultural Sports Group (350), on the third le Roses of Monigo (190). Then Dance & Slim (150), the Desert Roses (142) e Anteas San Biagio (117). Special prize – the Tigotà Trophy – to the group Pink Adrenaline which, guided by Gloria Tascaanimated the stage of the Bastione San Marco with the energy of zumba for most of the morning.

Mayor Mario Contepulled left and right by selfie hunters, saw “a fantastic city, full of celebration, joy, girls, mothers and grandmothers. Above all, full of solidarity”. Many compliments to the organizers: “The enthusiasm of over 10 thousand women is overwhelming – he comments Enrico Caldatopresident of Corritrevisoaccompanied by Philip Bellin“voice” and soul of the event representing Trevisathletics -. We would have liked to host even more, but in the end we had to set ourselves a limit because the organizational structure (over 150 volunteers involved, ed.) risked going into difficulty. However, the number of participants has grown compared to the last two seasons. It was a splendid Sunday: we couldn’t have expected a more beautiful party for the tenth anniversary of Treviso in Rosa”.

Curiosity: someone participated in Treviso in Rosa while remaining thousands of kilometers away: Stefanì Dal Ponte, French from Saint-Pol-De-Leon, regularly registered and today, wearing the pink t-shirt, while the river of 10,000 women began to invade the historic center of Treviso, she went running along the streets of the Breton town where resides. Solidarity has no borders.
