Each edition of Sanremo Festival represents an inimitable showcase not only for established artists but also for new faces of Italian music ready to rout the competition. At the last edition of the event we appreciated the talent, energy and creativity of Alpha – at the registry office Andrea De Filippi – in particular for the splendid performance alongside a sacred monster of Italian music: Roberto Vecchioni.
Class of 2000, Alpha – Andrea De Filippi – is originally from Genoa and his passion for music dates back to an early age. It is no coincidence that his first guitar and piano lessons date back to when he was only 8 years old, and in his mid-teens he began to highlight his musical talent on social media. It is in 2019 that the first great opportunities begin; since the release of the song “Time to time” to collaboration with Olly for the featuring “Best Seller”.
Alfa, dreams ‘beyond’ music: “I could see myself working at Disney…”
On his way to the dream of music, Alpha he also tried the talent route: in 2018 he took part in the casting for X Factor however, he was unable to convince the judges to take him to the subsequent stages. The highest moment is undoubtedly recent, namely the debut on stage of Sanremo Festival 2024 concluded with an excellent tenth position, considering that there were 30 big names in the race.
Among Alfa’s ambitions there seems to be not only music; in a recent interview – reported by Fanpage – the young singer actually said: “I never want to get to the point where no one is interested in new songs and people come to concerts just to hear the old ones”. Andrea De Filippi then added: “I would like to reach forty and then change completely, remaining in the creative field. I’m a fan of animated films, I could see myself working at Disney.”
