Fano: Master protagonists in the Second Stage of the Filippi Trophy

The spotlight will also be on the Master Categories this weekend dedicated to Beach Sprint rowing, here in Fano. Starting from the Over 54s in men’s doubles, the gold went to the performance of the SC Pesaro crew with Stefano Urbinati and Simone Maietta on board, first ahead of their opponents from RYC Savoia. In the same specialty, but among women, the best performing crew was that of Maria Cardillo and Fabra Maria Vidal Quadras (Rowing Club Peloro) who imposed themselves on the Mondello rig with the second boat of the Rowing Club Peloro to complete the squares useful for the medal.

In mixed doubles, the winner was the TS San Marco team made up of Alberto Millo and Barbara Nespolo with SC Pesaro and SC Sile in second and third place respectively. In singles gold went to Luciano Mestriner (SC Sile) who won ahead of Stefano Urbinati (SC Pesaro) with Francesco Longo (SC Thalatta) finishing. In the mixed quadruple test the fastest were Gigliola Barbieri, Fabio Massimo Arcangeli, Aldo Calcagnini, Patrizia Sabatini, tim. Giampiero Olivieri (SC Pesaro) capable of beating the other team from Pesaro and relegating the mixed Mondello/Circolo Nautico Fanese/CCR Lauria to third place.

As regards the athletes 43-54, in the doubles trials, among the men gold at CC Napoli thanks to Stefano Correale and Giovanni De Pardo with the mixed CCR Lauria/RYC Savoia to follow. Among the women, the fastest were Ilaria Bertassello and Flavia Calabrò (SC Thalatta), behind whom came the Rowing Club champions Peloro and Mondello. Finally, among the mixed teams, the stars of the final were Andrea Petracci and Silvia Donnoli (Tirrenia Todaro) who beat the crews of SC Lario and SC Thalatta in that order.

Among the singles, the best performing was Fortunata Grasso (SC Thalatta) winner ahead of Simonetta Falzea (Rowing Club Peloro) with Teresa Torre (Rowing Club Peloro) completing the positions useful for the medal. Mondello/CCR Lauria/ on the first step of the podium finally for what concerns the mixed quadruple event, thanks to Giuseppina Buccheri, Marco Costa, Vincenzo La Franca, Francesca Amenta, tim. Giuseppe Faso, behind whom the athletes of SC Pesaro and SC Thalatta placed themselves.

Moving on to the Under 43s, in the men’s doubles competition Alfredo Valery Laino and Alessio Vagnelli (RYC Savoia) beat the rowers of SC Lario, while in the women’s doubles Teresa Torre and Brianne Bartolini (DLF Chiusi/Rowing Club Peloro) preceded on the line the Peloro Rowing Club boat arrives. In the men’s singles gold went to Dario Femmino’ (Rowing Club Peloro), who won over Stefano Correale (CC Napoli). Among the singles, Brianne Bartolini (DLF Chiusi) took first place on the podium ahead of Alessandra Bitto (Rowing Club Peloro).
