The inaugural Grand Concert of the “Orpheus” Network at the Verdi Theater in Brindisi

BRINDISI – The inaugural Grand Concert of the “Orpheus” Network will be held on Monday 6 May at 6pm at the Teatro Verdi in Brindisi, which opens the Music Week as usual. The concert, which sees the patronage of the Municipality of Brindisi and the Province of Brindisi, will be hosted by the journalist Antonio Celeste and will propose as a common thread excerpts from the most famous operas, operettas and musicals. The hundredth anniversary of the death of Giacomo Puccini represents an opportunity to commemorate one of the greatest composers in history.

With the usual enthusiasm, the students of the schools belonging to the “Orpheus” Network will perform songs such as “Intermezzo”, taken from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, “Coro a Bocca Chiusa”, taken from Puccini’s Butterfly, “Nessun Dorma”, taken from Puccini’s Turandot, “Tace il Labbro”, taken from F. Lehar’s Merry Widow, “Bella”, taken from the Musical Notre Dame de Paris.

On stage the “Marzolla Leo Simone Durano” high school, leading school, the “Orpheus” orchestra, the Iiss “E. Ferdinando” and the “Orpheus” choir, made up of 70 students from primary and secondary schools belonging to the Network. The concert will also be broadcast live via this link and is included in the national program of Indire for the Music Week established by Mim.
