Great success of participants todaySunday 5 May, for Deejay Ten’s debut in Viareggiothe third stage of this year’s five events of the non-competitive traveling race, one of the most famous in Italy, created by Linus, which since 2005 has offered its members the opportunity to experience a pleasant Sunday morning full of sport and fun.
The event, organized under the patronage of the City of Viareggio, involved almost 7,000 runners of all ages and athletic abilities who, wearing the colored shirts signed Radio Deejay, they ran this morning through the streets of the Tuscan city following the routes proposed by 10 and 5 km (the first aimed at 16 year olds, the second accessible to anyone). Runners are left at 9.00 from Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini with Linuswhich kicked off the race accompanied by some of the most beloved voices in the Deejay world, such as Nicola Savino, Matteo Curti, Federico Russo, Vic, La Vale And Diego Passoni.
After passing the start, the runners ran along the seafront along Viale Daniele Manin and the picturesque Burlamacca canal, until they reached Piazza Alessandro Manzoni. From here the 10km colorful river crossed the Ponte Girante and, turning onto Via Michele Coppino, reached the Fortunato Celli quay, traveling along Via dei Pescatori and Viale Europa, up to the turning point at the imposing Muraglione lighthouse to return to Viale Europa and turn onto via Luigi Salvatori. After passing the Stadio dei Pini, the runners reached the Ponte Girante again and, after passing Piazza Manzoni, they arrived in via Cesare Battisti, where they found themselves with the 5 km route. Both itineraries then continued up to the monumental entrance of the Pineta di Ponente, a green lung in the center of the city and symbol of Viareggio, which they crossed in the direction of the arrival, coinciding with the starting point.
Lots of music and entertainment yesterday and this morning also at Deejay Villageto the Viewpoint of the Masksa location where it was possible to request information, collect a bib and shirt, but also attend fun moments of entertainment with the radio speakers and participate in the various activities offered at the sponsors’ stands. Also present at the Village for the occasion was the two-time Olympic vice-champion boxer Clement Russo exceptional trainer, together with partner McFIT, from the central stage for muscle warming to the rhythm of music useful for preparing all participants for the run.
After the first stage in Turin, Bari and today in Viareggio, Deejay Ten 2024 will then continue to Treviso on May 19th and will end at Milan on October 13th.
