World Asthma Day, free checks in the hospitals of Lamezia and Tropea on 7 May

On Tuesday 7 May, on the occasion of World Asthma Day 2024, 53 Pediatric Pulmonology centers distributed throughout the country will offer free spirometry assessments to children.
The initiative is carried out by SIMRI (Italian Society for Infantile Respiratory Diseases) in collaboration with the Italian Society of Paediatrics, AsmAllergia Bimbi Onlus, Federasma and Allergy Federation of Patients ODV, Let’s Breathe Together, and constitutes an important opportunity for families to learn more knowledge of an increasingly widespread and difficult to diagnose pathology and access to specialist medical checks for their children, at no cost.

The Pneumo-Allergology clinic of the Paediatrics Unit of the Lamezia Terme Hospital, directed by Dr Caloierois among the centers admitted to the national initiative and will offer free spirometry tests from 9 am to 5 pm, together with information talks on asthma and pediatric allergology.

The activities will be carried out in the new clinics on the third floor, Scala B of the Lamezzo hospital.
Dedicated signage will be set up for the event, however, to make planning the activities easier it will be possible to book by sending an email to [email protected] subject “World Asthma Day”, indicating the child’s personal data, or by calling 0968208600 (Pediatrics department).

Also the Provincial Health Authority of Vibo Valentia will be on the field on the occasion of “World Asthma Day 2024”. On the afternoon of May 7th from 3pm to 6pm at the pneumo-allergology clinic of the medical department of the Tropea Hospital there will be the possibility of carrying out a free specialist assessment on the breathing health of adults and children.

Doctors Salvatore Braghó, Giuseppe Barbuto, Rosaria Chessari and Rocco Longo they will be available to anyone who requests advice on respiratory diseases; the free specialist consultations will continue in the same location with doctors Chessari and Longo on the dates of 16 and 30 May, from 8.30 am to 6 pm on the occasion of the “Asthma zero week”.

This is the commitment of the Vibono Health Authority to network with the main national circuits for the treatment and prevention of asthma, a multi-factorial pathology which affects adults and children and is continually increasing, with direct costs on healthcare spending and indirect on days of absence from work and school.
