CASTGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA – Blue Factor fights until the 50th minute but in the end Cgc Viareggio wins 5-3 at Casa Mora, and celebrates their arithmetic passage to Serie A1. Castiglione, with Federico Paghi on the bench, gave everything they had, but the former Samuele Muglia, hat-trick and gold medal with 47 centres, made the difference. Castiglione looking for definitive points of salvation, even if in the evening if Forte dei Marmi beats Salerno the game is over, the game will start.
After a minute of contemplation in memory of the referee Carlo Corponi, the Biancocelesti took the lead on their first offensive action. Montauti’s descent, Gomez rejects, Nobili pounces on the ball, controls it and from the edge of the area puts it into the top corner, 1-0. The reaction of the Bianconeri, accompanied in Maremma by a good number of fans, was not long in coming: Muglia, despite being pressured by Montauti, with his back to the goal with an underleg shot, beats Saitta for the 1-1. The contact between Brunelli and Rosi earns a penalty for Viareggio: Saitta stops Muglia. Then blue to Piro for a foul on Rosi. Saitta blocks Muglia again from the first free kick. A few seconds after the siren Muglia pushes Brunelli, the reaction of the Castiglione captain costs him the blue: Saitta also stops Rosi’s free kick.
At the start of the second half CGC took the lead. Raffaelli serves D’Anna at the far post, and the Juventus captain volleys home to make it 2-1. Castiglione skids but tries to react. Rosi hooks Piro, and gets the blue. Montauti fails to overcome an excellent Gomez. At half time Ale Saitta comes down undisturbed, slips slightly to the left and unleashes an unstoppable diagonal, 2-2. The back and forth continues. D’Anna extends vertically into the area and Muglia’s touch deceives Saitta, 3-2. There’s no time to think about it and Brunelli sprints down the left, he takes center stage past D’Anna and while Gomez tries to close the gap on the goal he slots in the 3-3 half-way up. All in two minutes. The CGC, however, has many strings to its bow. Counterattack by Rosi, assist in the center for Muglia who makes no mistake, 4-3. Then blue to Brunelli who connects with Muglia: Raffaelli scores the 5-3 on the free kick. In the final, another blue for Castiglione. Montauti stops Rosi, Saitta stops D’Anna’s free kick. The CGC wins and flies to A1.
