Who after Gratteri in Catanzaro? The shortlist of candidates for head of the Prosecutor’s Office is narrowed to 6: here are the favourites Calabria7
Descriptive text here

The circle is narrowing and the list of candidates eligible for succession is narrowing Nicola Gratteri driving the Prosecutor’s Office of Catanzaro. Initially there were nine candidates but as the months passed the Superior Council of the Judiciary took other decisions and made other appointments. The latest, in chronological order, concerned Luca Tescaroli who left Florence to take office as head of the Prato Prosecutor’s Office while Alberto Liguori was appointed new prosecutor of the Republic of Civitavecchia and Antonio D’Amato he settled in Messina.

Who remains in the running for Catanzaro

On paper, six officials remain in the running, theoretically all in the running to take on the role of chief prosecutor of Catanzaro. Among these the name of stands out Vincenzo Capomolla, current regent prosecutor having taken the position left vacant by Nicola Gratteri pending the decisions of the Superior Council of the Judiciary. Among the candidates also the prosecutor of Lamezia Terme Salvatore Curcio, the deputy prosecutor of Naples Rosa Fox (defeated by Gratteri in the race to lead the DDA of Naples), the deputy prosecutor of Reggio Calabria Giuseppe Lombardothe councilor of the Supreme Court Domenico Fiordalisi and the attorney general of the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria Gerardo Dominijanni. The time to reach a decision is now ripe and in the next few weeks the fifth commission of the CSM will begin to deal with the case.

Who are the favourites? The race could soon narrow further to three candidates. This is the Attorney General Gerardo Dominijanni who has an important chance of returning to the same office where he held the role of deputy prosecutor; the current chief prosecutor of Lamezia Salvatore Curcio, also with an important past in the Catanzaro office; and of the Campania magistrate Rosa Volpe, famous for having solved the case of Elisa Claps, who will be able to play a precious card: having governed the Naples Prosecutor’s Office (the largest in Italy) for over a year, ferrying it from the Melillo era to the Gratteri era .

Capomolla on pole for Cosenza?

Also waiting for the appointment of the new prosecutor of Cosenza after the retirement of Mario Spagnuolo. He left the race Camillo Falvo who revoked the application to probably focus on the anti-mafia prosecutor’s office of Reggio Calabria which will soon be left vacant by Giovanni Bombardieri about to be appointed new prosecutor of Turin. So Vincenzo Capomolla could go to Cosenza with the title of acting prosecutor in Catanzaro. The road seems to be downhill for the Vibo magistrate, favored over the other two candidates remaining in the race: the Cassation councilor Domenico Fiordalisi and the deputy general prosecutor of Reggio Calabria Vincenzo Luberto. (it makes me.)
