A terrible tragedy occurred in Naples this morning, May 5, 2024, just before dawn. A 21 year old girl was hit and killed in Catholic Streetthe road that leads from the Cavalleggeri district to Coroglio on the western outskirts of the Neapolitan city.
The fatal crash it happened around 6.30 when the young woman, resident in the historic center, and her friends were returning home after a night spent in a club of the area. All investigations of the case were entrusted to the Road Accident section of the municipal police.
The officers are reconstructing the dynamics of the accident, also thanks to the story of the victim’s friends. According to what was reported by the latter, the girls had gotten into their car, a Fiat Panda, to go home. After a few meters the owner of the vehicle asks the driver to stop as she believes she is in better conditions to drive the car safely. And so the car stops. The young woman who later lost her life would have gotten out of the back seat to get to the car guide. Unfortunately, however, she doesn’t have time to get back into the car when she is hit by a vehicle, perhaps a large SUV, which runs over her.
The driver of the other car not only did not stop but continued to run to escape. On the spot, he explains further Fanpagethey arrived immediately rescued of 118 and the men of the municipal police. Unfortunately, the health workers could not help but confirm the death of the young woman. The body was later transferred to the morgue Second Polyclinic of Naples. Here, an autopsy is expected to be carried out in the next few days.
Law enforcement officials are working to acquire the recordings of some surveillance cameras present in the area where the tragedy occurred and in the surrounding streets in order to collect all the useful elements to identify the driver of the other car.
Following the accident she was closed to traffic a stretch of road for the safety of the roadway and for all the surveys carried out by the officers.
