The initiative has been praised for its role in increasing crime prevention and improving integrated land management
15 municipalities in the province of Varese obtain the green light for the implementation of the systems urban video surveillancemarking an important step towards one greater security of the territory.
These municipalities include Busto Arsizio, Cairate, Cardano al Campo, Caronno Varesino, Castronno, Cittiglio, Cunardo, Luino, Mesenzana, Oggiona con Santo Stefano, Olgiate Olona, Rancio Valcuvia, Sangiano, Sumirago and Varese.
The Provincial Committee for public order and safety, meeting on 23 April under the leadership of the Prefect Salvatore Pasquariello and with the participation of the leaders of the Police Force and the Mayor of Varese, welcomed the projects presented by the Municipalities, considering them worthy of attention for their contribution to the prevention of criminal phenomena and the integrated management of territorial control.
The “Pacts for the implementation of Urban Security” preliminarily signed between the Prefect and the Mayors of the Municipalities involved marked the start of a process aimed at raising the level of security of local communities, an objective which now takes concrete shape through the approval of video surveillance projects. The technical clearance obtained from the competent State Police offices of the “Lombardy Telecommunications Zone” of Milan confirms the validity of the projects presented according to the parameters and requirements in force.
Prefect Pasquariello expressed appreciation for the commitment and collaboration of the 15 Municipalities involved in the initiative, recognizing their fundamental role in promoting safety participated and contribute to prevention and repression of crimes in the area. Now, the approved projects will be sent to the offices of the Ministry of the Interior for evaluation of their financeability and inclusion in the national ranking, via a special central commission. An important step towards greater protection and safety for the citizens of province of Varese.
