Netafim Bogliasco 1951 finishes the men’s Serie A2 regular season in second place, earning an important place in the promotion play-offs which will begin in two weeks. The away victory at Como Nuoto was decisive (9-5) which allowed the biancazzurri to definitively keep their direct pursuers at a distance.
THE NEWS – Even though he knows he can count on two results out of three, Bogliasco is not satisfied with a draw and goes into the water determined to make everything at stake his own. The demonstration comes from the 5-0 scored in the first half and a half of the game, thanks to Brambilla’s brace and goals from Gavazzi, Boero and Taramasco. The latter is repeated before the long interval, responding to the first two goals from the Como team that arrived in the meantime. The Ligurian advantage increased in the third round with another double score from Brambilla, interspersed with a shout from Mugnaini. Having reached 9-2, Bogliasco now considers the matter closed and in the final quarter leaves space and glory to the local team who manages to alleviate the deficit by reporting a 3-0 partial in their favor which does not change the outcome of the match .
COMMENT – “Today we achieved our second objective of the season – states coach Guidaldi at the end of the match – The first was to enter the play-offs, the second was to try to reach the highest possible ranking position. Unfortunately we were unable to achieve first place due to some missed passes. But we must give credit to Florentia who won it with full merit, just as we deservedly finished behind them. Today we could also count on a draw and, even, we could have safeguarded second place even in the event of defeat. But making calculations is not only risky but also difficult, especially in water polo. And in fact we entered the pool determined to win the match, closing the practice early. Now let’s enjoy the playoffs without worries, knowing that matches like these for a team very young like ours will first and foremost be an important experience for us to grow. I expect to see a full Vassallo like in the good times.”
Game 1 of the playoff semi-finals is scheduled for Saturday 18th at Vassallo against Olympic Roma, a third-placed team in the southern group of Serie A2.
