PERUGIA – The 17-year-old student Clara Pescrilli is the new Miss World Umbria 2024. She is the winner of the regional final of the famous competition, which took place on Friday afternoon in Corciano, inside the Gherlinda entertainment center. The doors of the national Miss World final have thus opened for her, which will take place in Puglia, in Gallipoli to be precise, in the summer. The event is scheduled for June 16th. With Pescrilli, a student of human sciences, there will also be university student Stella Tonialini, a twenty-year-old enrolled in the first year of Education and Training Sciences and 16-year-old Angelica Landi, who attends linguistic high school. Tonialini and Landi placed second and third respectively in the regional final of Miss World Umbria.
At Gherlinda there were a total of 10 finalist girls, presented by Silvia Epi and evaluated by a jury of experts. It was composed by the event manager Francesco Rossi, Franco Sportoletti of Moda Sposi, the fashion blogger Claudia Maggiurana and the journalists Francesco Bircolotti and Massimo Sbardella. The event was supported by various sponsors, including Moda Sposi, Lucertini, Frankie Garage, O’Bag and Yamamay. Jean Louis David’s staff combed the contestants’ hair. The patron of Miss World Umbria, Gianni Marcantonini of Art Inside Event, also took part in the finals.
On the occasion of the afternoon, the promoters before the start of the event remembered “with great emotion” Antonio Becchetti, owner of an important modeling and management agency, who recently passed away. Becchetti had been choreographing the Miss World Umbria fashion shows for years. Marta Valigi and Giulia Lollini continue his commitment, two of his former models who, in memory of him, opened Ab Models, a modeling and management agency.
IN GALLIPOLI For the Umbrian trio, attention now shifts to Gallipoli, where they will go from 3 to 6 June for a first selection phase. In total there will be 120 misses from each region for a great final that will take place between 1st and 16th June. Only 25 will arrive at the final event, the final evening which will be presented by Giorgia Palmas and will take place at the Le Sirenè ecoresort. In the 2009 final Perugia had “shined” with Alice Taticchi’s victory.
