Having closed the championship with a 4-2 victory against Nebros, the time has truly come for Gela to think about the future, which is more uncertain than ever today.
Last Monday, there was a first meeting between Melfa and Scerra, a conversation that lasted all afternoon, in which an assessment was made of the championship which ended in sixth place. A meeting, which also served to start talking about economic issues, which were the ones that led to the separation between the parties, a rift that, unless there are sensational twists, seems incurable.
The current situation sees both Maurizio Melfa and Marco Scerra as resigning presidents, but the former seems intent on truly taking a step back, but not on leaving football, as he seems to be testing the waters, as we already anticipated last week, for the acquisition of a Promotion or First Category title, and also the appearance, via social media, of the Gela FC logo portends a return of the yellow and black colors in the Gela football scene.
On the Scerra front, the group to which it belongs, seems intent on continuing with Gela Calcio, but also in this case there are question marks linked to the real possibility of Scerra carrying out the project independently, even if the same patron, recently guaranteed the entry of new members. In a short time it will be necessary to reach a decision on the fate of the club, these are already important weeks for planning the new season and no further postponements are permitted.
