The project supported by the 2022-2023 CAP
It is in fact a prestigious project designed by Giuseppe Modica, with the very suggestive and programmatic title of “Mediterranean routes and circular vision ”. And it was precisely this project that, supported by CAP 2022-2023 – Plan for Contemporary Artpromoted by General Directorate of Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture allowed the acquisition of two works by Modica: “Melancholy” And “Mediterranean”(2017oil on panel) and “Refraction. Workshop” (2020oil painting on canvas).

And here we are at the route of the current exhibition: twenty oils on canvasalmost all unpublished and created by the artist in recent years, exhibited in the first floor room of the House Museum and it’s the same artist who Like this accompanies us in their vision: “ The Mediterranean it is not intended as a mythical Arcadiabut as a a place marked by many vicissitudes”.

Hendrik Christian Andersen House Museum. Some info
The House-museum of Norwegian-American sculptor Hendrik Christian Andersen (Bergen, 1872 – Rome, 1940), who lived in Rome from the end of the 19th century until his death, is in a Building built by himself and decorated starting from 1922 in eclectic neo-Renaissance style. The writing stands out on the entrance door Villa Heleneone sculptor’s dedication to his mother. On the ground floor there are two large ateliers with the works of the artist, his home on the first floor, now used for temporary exhibitions dedicated to foreign artists from the 19th and 20th centuries up to the present day.
The works of the sculptor and painter Hendrik Christian Andersen are preserved in the museum.
