Blessing of the Palios, the procession enters the Cathedral

On the occasion of blessing of the Palios and the offering of candles, the procession left on the afternoon of Saturday 4 May from Piazza Castello. An event also characterized by the arrival of the national aerobatic team of the Frecce tricolori which dyed the sky of the city of Este green, white and red, flying over Corso Martiri della Libertà.

The procession then entered the Cathedral of Ferrara for the blessing of the Palios and the offering of the candles. The show dedicated to the Palio di Ferrara is destined to continue on the evening of Saturday 4 May, starting from 9pm with the videomapping projections on Palazzo Ducale, to the pressing music of Davide Lavia. There will also be space for the story dedicated to the history of the Palio studied and created in detail by Andrea Bernabini and Sara Caliumi of Neo Visual Project, through evocative 3D animations and the use of motion graphics.

Starting from 10.30pm, in Cathedral Square Lorenzo de Blanck will start his DJ set from the balcony of the historic Ducal Palace, making those present dance. During the live sets the palace will be colored by video images generated in real time, synchronized with the music chosen by the Ferrara DJ. The visual effects are by Andrea Bernabini and Samuele Huynh Hong Son of Visual Project.

‘D’arme e d’amore’ is the title ofmultimedia installation of video art designed for Ferrara by Andrea Bernabini and Sara Caliumi which also on Sunday 5 May, for the last evening, will color Palazzo Ducale starting from 9pm and until 1am, with the show repeating approximately every 20 minutes. The free event is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with Ferrara Tua and the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara Foundation, with the historical consultancy of the Palio Città di Ferrara Foundation.
