The Farinelli Polyphonic Choir turns 30 – AndriaLive.it

Today Saturday 4 May 2024 starting at 8.00 pm in Andria, at the Madonna Della Grazia Parish Church in via Mgr. I roll it ang. via Delle Querce, a prestigious vocal concert will be held and orchestral which involves the polyphonic choir together with thethe “Farinelli” String Orchestra, led respectively by Dchoir director of Andria M° prof. Graziano Santovito and from 1st violin Konzertmeister Master prof. Pietro Catucci, former violin teacher at middle school P. Cafaro”.

The event intends to celebrate 30 years of profitable and continuous activity of the “Farinelli” choir, aka Carlo Broschi, and the 25 years since the foundation of the Parish of the Madonna della Grazia.

The concert will involvethe continuous bass is the brilliant cellist Anila Roshi and Prof Giovanni Posa, former teacher of Music in Andria, while Professor Clelia plays second violins Sguera, professor of History of Music at the Council. Little ones of Bari together with young talent tarantino Gaia Giorgi. On viola, Maestro Umberto Bozza, principal viola of the Bari Metropolitan Orchestra. Neitherthe first violins the young studies appearViolin teacher Gaia Pia Di Niccolo and the prof. Matteo Notarangeloteacher in Andria at secondary schools.

The repertoire will feature Francesco Durante in his interesting “Magnificat”, already attributed to Pergolesi, in the version reworked by Maestro Bepi Speranza, and the very famous “Glory” of Antonio Vivaldi.

The polyphonic choirprepared and masterfully directed by Maestro Graziano Santovito, intends to carry on the glorious tradition of vocal music in relation to the figure of the singer Carlo Broschi, born in Andria in 1705 and known universally like “Farinelli”.
