The memory of the mayor of Teramo Gianguido D’Alberto

“With the passing of Corrado Pellanera we lose a protagonist in the history of Italian basketball. The entire municipal administration extends its embrace to his family on behalf of the entire city.”
The Mayor of Teramo Gianguido D’Alberto expresses his condolences for the death of Corrado Pellanera, who passed away at the Sant’Orsola hospital in Bologna at the age of 86.
In his long career as a basketball player, in addition to playing for over 15 years in Serie A, he took part in two Olympics and the World Cup in Brazil, always maintaining a strong bond with his city of origin.
“Pellanera represented a concrete example of the positive values of sport – underlines the mayor – raising the name of Italian basketball high without ever forgetting his city. Precisely his constant relationship with Teramo led him, in 2011, to play the role of President of Teramo Basket. An exceptional man, both humanly and from a sporting point of view, who the city will never forget.”
