LUCCA. No bus trip to Saronno for the fans, the very few days available after match two did not in fact give the club the time necessary to organize everything.
This evening, however, a large number of Lucca fans are expected to be present at PalaRonchi – tap-off at 9pm – to make their support for the team felt.
The ingredients for a compelling match three are therefore all there, starting from the fact that it is another inside or outside match. Whoever wins advances to the semi-final, where they will play against the winner of the match between Pavia and Virtus Siena, while whoever loses will end their season, postponing any promotion ambitions until next year. From what we have seen so far in the first two matches, the field factor has so far been absolutely decisive with Saronno who at home managed to overturn a match which at the beginning had seen the Luccas escape in the score and then after the interval it continued progressively to extend up to the final +16 (81-65).
Same thing in game two, with Palatagliate seeing a very balanced challenge until the break before the red and whites took a six-point margin in the third quarter and spread in the final quarter up to +18 (97-79). It is therefore obvious to consider Saronno the favorite to go through to the next round because the parquet of the PalaRonchi, an oratory structure which over the years has been modernized and adapted to needs, but which has particular spaces and points of reference, this year was violated only once once from Casale Monferrato during the regular season.
Furthermore, the group coached by coach Biffi demonstrated its ability to express defensive intensity of the highest level, one of the key factors in the success of game one. On the other hand, the Lucca team can respond with the show of strength released on Wednesday evening on the Palatagliate pitch. A match conducted from the very first minutes in which the group’s experience made the difference. Furthermore, we must not underestimate the mentality of a group that more than once this season has been able to react after finding itself with its back against the wall. A situation which is certainly unusual for Saronno which has always won so far, constantly finding itself at the top of the rankings since the beginning of the year. Net of everything, however, in these playoff matches, the one with the most mental and above all physical energy will win.
