Venice, the Financial Police fines a company that employed illegal workers

The Financial Police of Venice has announced the success of a series of operations aimed at fight tax evasion and illegal work in the province.

Through constant monitoring of the various economic sectors, the financiers have identified various situations of irregularity, with particular attention to construction, often characterized by extensive use of non-EU labour.

One of the most significant operations conducted by the GDF of Portogruaroled to the identification of a company managed by individuals of Albanian nationality.

Through a targeted check, it emerged that the company employed 14 non-EU workers illegally, coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tunisia and Albania, of which five did not have a residence permit to work in Italy.

Furthermore, some regularly hired workers were recorded with a much lower number of working hours than those actually worked.

Faced with these irregularities, the legal representative of the company was warned to remedy all the violations found and to pay a fine of 130,000 euros

Overall, since the beginning of the year, the departments of the Guardia di Finanza of Venice have carried out more than this 130 interventions regarding illegal work, identifying 58 completely illegal workers and 70 irregular workers.
