Very little is left for the 19th edition of “Extreme Fight”, a well-known international kickboxing and muay thai gala as well as one of the longest-running events in southern Italy in the field of combat sports.
For the occasion, this XIX edition will take place in Altamura tomorrow, Sunday 5 May, at the sports hall in via Piccinni.
The 2024 edition of this event, organized by the promoters Graziano Lassandro (president of the Santermana Asd “Fighting Team Lassandro) and Mimmo Ninivaggi, is sponsored by the municipality of Altamura and is promoted by Carlo Di Blasi’s “Fight 1” organization. During the evening, 20 amateur matches are scheduled (including Santermani Davide and Cristian Secundo and Doriano Labarile) and 5 professional ones.
Various Italian and international athletes will take turns in the prestigious Altamura ring.
At 7.30pm, for the professional part, the evening will open with the 3×3 FCR -62.5kg match between Giangreco Salvo and Abdul Said. Following, again in the 3x3FCR discipline but this time in the -65kg category, the match between Giuseppe Costa and Salvatore Piacentino.
Special event this year, an all-female 3×3 muay thai match which will pit the Greek athlete Mariza Korogiannou against the Italian Alessia Colucci in the -57kg category.
On the sidelines of the evening the match between Biagio Sansone and Leonardo Grillo in a match, -67kg category of FCR 3×3.
The highlight match, in closing, is the one between the home champion Paolo Cannito and the very strong French athlete Rivas valid for the ISKA Kickboxing K1 – 57kg world title.

Competing – says Graziano Lassandro, Cannito’s coach, as well as one of the organizers of the event – in the Murgia area, in Paolo’s house will be an unprecedented spectacle both for the athlete and for the Altamura citizens who, in large numbers, will come to support the home idol. The challenge will not be easy. Rivas is strong and prepared but Cannito is determined.”
