Important note from the municipal councilor of the Democratic Party of Modica, Giovanni Spadaro, regarding a problem that concerns several citizens, namely that linked to costs and analysis of wastewater from Imhoff pits. The Dem exponent, in fact, met with the leaders of the ATI and the technicians of Iblea Acque, precisely “to address the problem of the discharge of spoils (wastewater deriving from imhoff pits), the cost inherent in the discharge of the sewage to the purifier and the frequency of analysis of wastewater coming from civilian homes.

The technician has undertaken to develop a proposal to amend the Integrated Water Service Regulation to be submitted to the ATI assembly.

In this proposal – continues Spadaro – there will be the possibility of transferring such wastewater for the entire area, a disposal cost which will only take into account the out-of-pocket costs incurred by the manager to guarantee the service, the possibility of requesting analyzes on wastewater only for the first contribution and subsequently to proceed with self-certifications valid for several years, if the conditions of use of the property do not change.

However, the analysis produced for industrial and/or artisanal waste always remains valid on an annual basis.

The approval of this regulatory change by the ATI assembly – concludes Spadaro – would provide an important service to settlements without discharge into the sewer system”.
