A few days ago, a 70-year-old man from Parma, agitated and scared, contacted 112 requesting the intervention of the police because a woman who had gotten into his car was threatening him and demanding cash.
The 112 operator, sensing from the tone of voice of the interlocutor that the situation was anything but calm, immediately alerted a patrol which arrived on site within a few minutes.
When the police arrived, the man locked himself in the car and reported that a few minutes earlier an unknown woman had entered his car and insistently and aggressively asked him for money. The man, frightened by this behavior, instinctively replied that he had no intention of giving her money. At this point the woman, with determination, began to rummage inside the glove compartment of the car looking for money or any valuable object. Finding nothing, the 25-year-old, increasingly aggressive, reformulated the request for money, but in this case she added: “if you don’t give me the money I’ll spray pepper spray in your face”, implying that she had it available within the bag he had with him.
In the end, the 25-year-old, not succeeding in her aim, walked away, losing track of herself in a nearby construction site. The man, after being reassured by the military, was accompanied to Strada delle Fonderie where he filed a complaint against the woman.
The Carabinieri have started the investigation, searching the Oltretorrente.
At the end of the investigative activity, on the basis of what was declared by the victim, and having carried out the necessary checks, the 25-year-old Italian, resident in the province, without prejudice to the principle of innocence until a final sentence, was reported in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Parma as currently held responsible for the crime of attempted robbery.
