This morning (Saturday 4 May), after the briefing scheduled for 11.30 in the lounge on the first floor of the Club Nautico Versilia, the crews will finally be able to compete at sea to compete for the prestigious Silver Trophy: the new edition, the twenty-seventh, of the Admiral Giuseppe Francese Challenge Trophy, organized by delegation of the Fiv by the Viareggio association with the collaboration of LNI section. Viareggio, CN Marina di Carrara, AIVE, Vele Storiche Viareggio, CO Mariperman-CSSN-MM, the patronage of the Tuscany Region, the Navy, the General Command of the Port Authority Corps, the Province of Lucca, the Municipality of Viareggio and the Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, the support of the Port Authority of Viareggio and Codecasa due.

The start of the regatta is scheduled from Viareggio at 1pm with the deadline for arrival set at 10am on Sunday for the Orcs and for the FIV Ratings and at 1am for vintage and classic yachts and for historic sails.

Two routes are planned: a coastal regatta on the Viareggio-Isola del Tino-Ship Light-Luminella-Marina di Pisa route for Orc and Rating FIV boats, while for vintage and classic yachts and for historic sails the route will be Viareggio -Island of Tino-Viareggio.

But another highly anticipated moment is the Awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday 5th at 6pm in the CNV room. Further proof of the great prestige held by this event, in addition to the personalities who joined the Honorary Committee, is the presence at the final ceremony of the Commander General of the Port Authority-Coast Guard Corps, Admiral Chief Inspector Nicola Carlone and of important civil authorities and soldiers who have already confirmed their presence.

During the awards ceremony, in addition to the French Admiral Challenge Trophy, other coveted Cups will also be awarded such as the one donated by the General Commander of the Port Authority-Coast Guard Corps, the one received by the Chief of Staff of the Navy and that of the National Presidency of Italian Naval League, or plaques like the one sent by the President of the Italian Sailing Federation.

The traditional closing vin d’honneur, as per the traction, will bid farewell to the 2025 edition.
