The municipal museum complex will be created in Villa Santa Maria

THE EAGLE – In the famous homeland of chefs the Municipal museum complex, aimed at enhancing the artistic and cultural heritage of the country. The Polo, which will be based in Palazzo Caracciolowill include the three museums already present in the area: the Chefs’ Museum, the San Francesco Caracciolo Museum and the Helmet Museum, which will be inaugurated next August.

“Our intent – explains the mayor Giuseppe Finamoreis to create a permanent cultural and educational centre, serving the community and open to the public, which safeguards, conserves, enhances and promotes the study and knowledge of the cultural heritage of the city and the reference area. As municipal administration, we will work to ensure that the hub becomes regional, as we want the riches kept in our village to have the right visibility and complete protection, not only at municipal level”.

The Chefs Museum collects the living testimonies of the chefs who trained at the Villa Santa Maria hotel institute and who were considered by the best hotels and restaurants in the world. From the testimonies collected in the museum, it is clear that there is perhaps not a prestigious restaurant or a large hotel in the world that has not had among its staff cooks, maitre d’s or doormen, natives of Villa S. Maria or who studied at the hotel school .

The Museum of San Francesco Caracciolo it is dedicated to the Patron Saint of Italian Chefs, to whom Villa Santa Maria was the birthplace. In 1996, the chefs chose and wanted the Saint as their Patron, not only because San Francesco Caracciolo was born in the homeland of the chefs, but also because, according to an ancient tradition, the first prototype of a hotel school was created right in Villa S . Maria by the Caracciolo family in the 16th century.

The Helmet Museum it will be inaugurated in August and will tell all the testimonies and anecdotes linked to this brilliant invention, created by Luciano Di Lello, born in Villa Santa Maria.

“The municipal administration – concludes Mayor Finamore – will analyze every possibility of financing for the construction of the museum center and will draw up the projects necessary for submitting applications for the relevant tenders”.
