Eccellenza, Bisceglie and Ugento will play in Serie D

A match worth an entire season. Or maybe much more. Bisceglie is preparing for the playoff final with Ugento, scheduled for Sunday 5 May at the “Giovanni Paolo II” in Francavilla Fontana (kick-off at 4.30pm). The Nerazzurri, returning from an almost perfect season, especially in the second half of the season, will go all out to regain the Serie D they lost two years ago.

The opponents concluded the regular season with an 11-point margin over second-placed Manduria, and arrive at the match with one game less in their legs. Mister Di Meo will have to deal with the 120 minutes with Molfetta and above all he will not be able to count on Pignataro, Kouame and Avantaggiato, disqualified following the clashes that occurred in the match with Molfetta. Many star supporters will be moving to support the team, to try to push the eleven on the pitch towards a very important goal and to celebrate the first promotion after seven years.

The regulation states that in the event of a tie at the end of the regular 90 minutes, two extra periods will be played and if the situation remains tied, promotion will be decided on penalties. The winning team will acquire the right to play in Serie D next year, the loser will have to play in the national play-offs to try to obtain promotion.

Marco Gambirasio from Bergamo will direct the final, with the support of assistants Roberto Lembo from Valdarno and Giuseppe Pio Palumbi from Termoli.
