PESARO – Tari increases, the opposition and the proposals of Conferecenti.

«It’s not enough to say no to increases, we all need to work together trigger a virtuous circle»: the provincial director of Confesercenti Alessandro Ligurgo intervenes on the Tari increases which have affected businesses and families. «It is clear that these are unsustainable increases – he maintains – as far as businesses are concerned, furthermore, they are added to those of other tariffs, personnel costs, raw materials until they inevitably fall on the final price and, therefore, once again on everyone we. In short, how much should a coffee, a pizza, an item of clothing cost, a service to amortize all upstream costs? Never enough. Precisely for this reason it is time to stop looking at the finger, letting the moon escape us. It’s time to all work together – trade unions, consumer associations, public bodies and subsidiaries – for what we have denied until now: a shared project, possibly directed by the Provincial Administration, which develops a virtuous circle”.

«So far – continues Ligurgo – we said no to everything – waste-to-energy plants and landfills – also legitimately because the conditions that made the projects feasible were lacking. However, we can no longer lose out twice on waste: paying to transport it elsewhere and not earning money on disposal. Instead, we must start an all-out discussion and a common path, to be able to keep waste in the area, perhaps even starting to make money from it, as others are already doing. This, without compromising liveability, tourism or health, which is possible given today’s systems, with almost zero impact.

Complaining against Marche Multiservizi – adds the provincial director of Confesercenti – doesn’t make much sense: it’s a company that rightly has to make profits and, indeed, if it makes profits it means it’s working well. Instead, let’s ensure that the professionalism of this company benefits everyone, by implementing a project that also helps the territory grow and provides benefits to citizens. The path cannot necessarily be very short, but we need to start on it.”

Ligurgo closes. «On the Tari issue, further reflection will need to be made on the existing regulations and on the disparities that currently emerge between similar companies. While recognizing the great work supported by the Administrations in this field, it is also necessary here to start a review process, equally shared between bodies and trade associations, to ensure fairer treatment for all operators so that everyone pays what is right and not there must be those who pay for others too.”
