PROVINCE OF TRAPANI – A Sunday full of culture also in Sicily. The traditional “Sunday at the Museum” event returns again in May: the initiative which provides, every first Sunday of the month, free entry to archaeological parks, museums and places of culture that depend on the regional department of cultural heritage. On Sunday 5 May, therefore, no ticket to visit the main regional cultural sites, as established by the regional department of cultural heritage and Sicilian identity, adhering to the initiative of the Ministry of Culture. The visits take place during the usual opening hours which can be consulted online, with access by reservation where applicable. In the province of Trapani the places involved: Segesta archaeological park; Selinunte archaeological park, Cave di Cusa and Pantelleria; “Lilibeo-Marsala” archaeological park and Capo Boeo archaeological area; Satyr Museum in Mazara del Vallo; Grifeo Castle in Partanna and the former Florio factory in Favignana. SELINUNTE -A new necropolis has been discovered outside the northern walls of Selinunte, in the Archaeological Park, creating a new visit itinerary. On May 5th, a free 5 km bicycle route to the necropolis will be inaugurated, with the participation of the Archaeological Groups of Italy. Guided tours will begin at 10am and the park will be open from 9am to 7pm. Info and tickets on the CoopCulture website.

SEGESTA – On Sunday 5 May at 9.30am, during the free entry to the Archaeological Park of Segesta, the “Trekking of the Elimi” will be held. A unique experience that allows you to explore the uncontaminated territory for 4 km, admiring the archaeological structures emerging from the ground. CASTELVETRANO – The Artichoke Festival is held on 4 and 5 May, at the Sistema delle Piazze and Via Vittorio Emanuele. The stands will be open from 10.00 until late evening. On Saturday 4th, at the Selinus Theatre, a cooking show will be held at 6.30pm with free entry. Entertainment for children with inflatables, face painting and more will be available on both Saturday and Sunday from 4pm. Furthermore, on Sunday you can watch a fire show. Historical dances with parade and performance in period costumes will be present both days from 6.00 pm.

MARSALA – Saturday 4 May last appointment with the “Lo Stagnone – scenes from a show” series at the Teatro Impero in Marsala. From 9.30pm, Corrado Tedeschi and Vito Scarpitta will be on stage interpreting three works by Luigi Pirandello: “La Morsa”, “La patente” and “The man with the flower in his mouth”. Also on stage are Giuseppe Todaro, Davide Maltese, Francesco Di Bernardo, Enza Giacalone, Serena Tumbarello and Max Vacante.

MARSALA – A concert by Alessia Martegiani and Maurizio Di Fulvio will be held on Sunday 5 May at 6.00 pm at the Sollima theater in Marsala. The program will include Latin jazz standards and classical music by authors such as Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Paulinho Nogueira, Maurizio Di Fulvio, Chick Corea and Consuelo Velazquez. FAVIGNANA – On Saturday 4 May, at 6.00 pm, the book “Cianchino. L’isola delle illusioni”, by Ninni Ravazza, will be presented at Palazzo Florio. Converse with the author, Maria Guccione. The event kicks off the literary review “Readings among the Islands”, organized by the Municipality of Favignana and the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area with the collaboration of the Ubik bookshop of Erice.

ALCAMO – The fifth “Monte Bonifato Revival” will be held on Sunday 5 May, an event sponsored by the Municipality, recalling the famous uphill speed race until 1984. On Saturday 4 May, there will be a static exhibition of three vintage cars at the College of the Jesuits. On Sunday 5 May, around 60 cars will stop in Piazza della Repubblica from 8.30 to 10.00, then they will cross Piazza Ciullo up to Corso 6 Aprile, with a route via Mazzini, via Santissimo Salvatore and via Monte Bonifato. The arrival is expected near the Bosco d’Alcamo reserve car park.

TRAPANI – From 4 to 26 May, at Palazzo Cavarretta (via Torrearsa 1), an extraordinary exhibition will be held to celebrate 75 years of Tex. The inauguration will take place on May 4th at 6pm with the presence of the curator and the head of the Comics Area. The exhibition, enriched during Trapani Comics (from 24 to 26 May), will offer guided tours, special meetings with Laura Piazza, Tito Faraci and the curator.
