It will be a thriller final with a view to salvation, that of the last 90′ of the Promotion championshipgroup C, scheduled for tomorrow at 4.30pm.
The 24th matchday, scheduled for March 3rd and, due to bad weather, postponed to the end of the tournament, thus becoming the last of the championship, will feature a Polesine derby at a distance between Pettorazza San Martino and Rovigowhich could become a direct duel for the playouts.
Let’s see all the combinations, taking into account the ranking (Psm fourth from last with 34 points and Rovigo third from last at 30, within the fateful 5 point gap within which the play-offs are held) and the fact that both will play away against the top teams, i.e. champion Pozzonovo and Arcella.
Well, if Rovigo conquers the Arcella field (which needs the last points to secure second place), the playout against PSM would be certain, regardless of the result in Pozzonovo. Instead, in the event of a draw or knockout of Mastrocinque’s men in Padua, everything will depend on the result of the Tessarin boys, that with three points at the home of the champions (who were also beaten in the first leg at Pettorazza and, who knows, perhaps satisfied by the fresh triumph) they would see their margin over Rovigo rise above 5 points and, inevitably, they would be directly safe.
In any case, if PSM doesn’t win in Pozzonovo, everything will remain unchanged and there will be a fratricidal playout.
The other challenges will only be for statistics. See the derby at Di Rorai between Cavarzere (40 points) and Loreo (39 points), in which we can expect a reaction from Mr. Fava’s home team after four knockouts in a row, in the presence of Fecchio’s satisfied Loredans, veterans from mathematical salvation but potentially in the fast lane in the standings.
Finally, Franchin’s Scardovari (13 points), who will say goodbye to this bitter championship at De Bei against the quiet Villafranchese. Will the Pescatori, who haven’t scored a point since March 17th (1-1 against Monselice) and haven’t won since November 12th (2-0 against Rovigo), manage to finish with half a smile?
