In the framework of the initiatives to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reopening to the public of the Stignani Theater – built in 1812 by the architect Giuseppe Magistretti inside the previous Franciscan church, closed in 1931 because it did not meet the safety regulations of the time and reopened in 1974 after the post-war restorations – The series of free guided tours will begin on Sunday 5 May to discover this building where some of the most acclaimed prose shows on the Italian theater scene have been staged for half a century.
Guided tours will lead participants not only in the spaces normally accessible to the public during shows, but also in those usually reserved for professionals and extremely fascinating to understand what happens behind the scenes. Precisely to allow access even to these more hidden areas of the theater, the group of visitors will be limited to one maximum of 30 people.
The visits – lasting approximately an hour and a half – will take place in the morning at 10.30 am both in the afternoon at 4.30 pm. To register, simply send an email to [email protected] indicating the name and number of participants and a telephone number. The Sundays on which the Stignani Theater will open its doors for free guided tours range from spring to autumn: 5 and 12 May, 2 and 9 June, 15 and 22 September, 6 and 13 October.
