Sassari. The first “cascade call” aimed at companies in the Sardinian sheep sector has been published on the website of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sardinia. This is one of the innovations introduced by the PNRR and will allow island farms to be protagonists in the experimentation of the Appàre digital platform for the collection, management and interpretation of company data. The intervention represents one of the ten chapters of the “eINS _Ecosystem of Innovation for Next Generation Sardinia” ecosystem, a global program financed by the PNRR on the island to strengthen the link between business and science, mitigate the social impacts generated by the crisis and increase the level of territorial inclusion. APPàre is coordinated by the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sardinia and includes in the partnership the Universities of Sassari and Cagliari, Abinsula and the National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT). The contents of the cascading call, which provides a financial allocation of 3,148,635 euros, will be presented during a meeting open to the sector and institutions which will be held on Monday 6 May at 11am in the L’Anfora di Tramatza conference hall.
The project aims to make companies more innovative and competitive and provide them with added value for breeding and processing. The objective of the tender is to develop integrated innovation and technology transfer processes, allowing farmers to manage the company by enhancing the management of big data with the help of artificial intelligence. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the livestock supply chain will be able to request the concessions, either individually or collaboratively and/or in association with other enterprises, and large enterprises provided that at least one micro, small and medium-sized enterprise collaborates. The call is aimed at companies in the livestock sector with a single dairy sheep production focus, provided that they also operate as processing companies (so-called corporate dairies); Furthermore, the recipients also include associations of companies operating in the sector of production and transformation of dairy sheep products, such as cooperatives.
The call for tenders will remain open for one month and all funded projects must be completed by October 2025, in compliance with the times set by the PNRR. The announcement, contacts and all useful information are available on the website https://www.izs-sardegna.it/SPOKE03/.
