The tight controls of the State Police continue aimed at preventing all forms of illegality, with particular attention to specific areas of the city such as that around the station Santa Maria Novella in Florence where yesterday, late in the evening, the police officers had surprised a 19-year-old of Senegalese origin carrying 50 doses of crack.
According to what has been reconstructed, the young man would have attracted the attention of the police while he stopped on the steps of the station: upon seeing the panther he would have walked quickly towards the nearby tram stop, where he would have been stopped a few moments later by law enforcement.
The officers would have noticed immediately something abnormal near a trouser cuffspecifically in one of his high shoes from which, during the check, one popped out voluminous transparent envelope with the narcotic inside ready, based on the investigative hypothesis, to be sold on the streets. The foreign citizen therefore ended up in handcuffs with the charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking of a narcotic substance.
A 26-year-old was also arrested
Still on the subject of combating drug dealing, yesterday morning, the agents of the Judicial Police Team of the Rifredi police station instead a 26-year-old Nigerian citizen arrestedcaught selling eight doses of heroin in Viale dei Mille to another foreign citizen in exchange for 140 euros in cash. The 26-year-old was later found wearing it 11 more doses of the same drughidden in a sock.
The latter too, as ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Florence, will appear today before the Judge for the validation of the precautionary measure, specifying however that the actual responsibility for the disputed facts, as well as the validity of the accusations against him , will always have to be evaluated during the subsequent trial and that at the moment it is supported by a presumption of innocence.
