Assistant coach Lorenzo Pomes presented on the social channels ofAPU Udine the first match of the Bianconeri playoffs, scheduled for Sunday 5 May at 6pm PalaCarnera against the JuVi Cremona. The coach began by talking about him from the regular season: “It was a very positive season, we are in the playoffs and the boys’ commitment was commendable. Certainly there were difficulties along the way, but team spirit that has been built during the season is certainly a very positive thing and it has been seen well in these last training sessions in view of the challenges that await us.”
The match will inaugurate a series which according to the coach will be very entertaining, but not without its pitfalls: “We must expect a fun series. Cremona has changed its formation by adding a long shooter (Nicolò Virginio, 203cm winger in 2003, from Varese) and remains very dangerousFor the unpredictability of their American exteriors (Takele Cotton, 12 points on average shooting 28% from three and 50% from the field, and Vincent Shahid, 15 points on average, 32% from beyond the arc and 46% from the field) and for the how hard they play defense“.
To the PalaCarnera this year the Friulians have lost only two games and coach Pomes underlined the importance of starting the playoffs in their own fort: “For us, playing at Carnera is a fundamental thing, as we have seen during the year. The voices from the stands are a true sixth manwhich gives us extra energy and which we will have to deserve by giving our all to thank anyone who comes to cheer us on.”
