Torino-Bologna 0-0: the crossbar stops Sanabria, equalizer at half-time

The partial at the end of the first forty-five minutes at the Grande Torino

Goalless and the result balanced at the end of the first half of Bologna-Turin. The Granata’s best opportunity fell on Sanabria’s head: a header from the Paraguayan hit the crossbar. Of note is Vlasic’s injury which forced Juric to make the first substitution and adapt Ricci to the attacking midfield.

The choices: Vojvoda and Masina arms

Juric abandons the 4-2-3-1 seen at San Siro and returns to the three-man defence, albeit with several new formations. Alongside Buongiorno there are Vojvoda and Masina. Rodriguez gets up in the left lane, with Bellanova on the opposite side. In the midfield there is room for the Ricci-Ilic pair, with Vlasic in the midfield to support Sanabria and Zapata. Thiago Motta instead chooses Ndoye and Saelemaekers to support Zirkzee.

The first half: Sanabria crosses

Under the downpour, Toro wears a special shirt to remember the Grande Torino on the eve of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Superga tragedy. After 7′ the yellow card immediately comes for Vojvoda who pushes Saelemaekers. Then in the 13th minute Fabbian also gets the card after an impetuous intervention on Zapata. In the quarter of an hour the first real opportunities: Vlasic is blocked in the area, Bologna starts again quickly and Zirkzee sends it wide from a good position. Two minutes later it was the crossbar that denied the 1-0 after a header from Sanabria, on the rebound the rossoblù managed to close down Zapata. In the 28th minute Juric was forced to give up Vlasic and, in the absence of alternatives in the role, opted for Linetty with Ricci rising to the midfield. In the 37th minute the Bolognese showed up again: Aebischer tried from outside, the ball went just wide with Vanja in control. It’s the last chance of the first half: after two minutes of injury time the score goes to half-time at 0-0.
