The 2023 budget of the Perugia Foundation has been approved

Almost 13 million euros paid to the community, 342 projects supported and 7 tenders published

During 2023, marked by multiple crisis factors, the Perugia Foundation continued to recalibrate and rethink its mission of supporting the social, economic, cultural and health fabric of the territory, with the aim of guaranteeing a level of disbursements consistent with the annual and three-year planning, as well as the need to protect and conserve the heritage. The choice of funding was preceded by careful listening to the local area, increasingly supported by its own events, conferences and training courses aimed at disseminating skills and multiplying the impact of the interventions.

The resources approved, equal to 9.5 million euroswere directed towards the strategic areas adopted by the Foundation and largely inspired byUN Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

In particular, the sector “Art, activities and culture“absorbed the largest portion of the resources for over 3.3 million (equal to 35.2% of the total approved), while “Education, instruction and training” 2.1 million (22.7%) were allocated. Following the sector “Local development” with approximately 1.8 million (19%), “Scientific research, health and environment” with 1.1 million (12%), “Volunteering, philanthropy and charity” with approximately 1 million (10.9%),

THE training courses made have ranged from social planning toEuroplanningup to digitalisation and to sustainability of cultural events.

The management of the properties in 2023, then, allowed the constant opening of 5 museum locations to Perugia, Assisi and Gubbioplaces of value that have hosted a total of almost 50,000 visitors in a year.

Once again, the effectiveness of the interventions was amplified by the strengthening of collaborations and gods partnerships with institutions, associations and public and private bodies, which made it possible to activate additional resources, not only economic, but human and relational.

Furthermore, during 2023 Fondazione Perugia enhanced and strengthened the activities of monitoring of the resources assigned, involving stakeholders in the analysis of the results and impacts generated by the implementation of the various projects supported.

“The 2023 budget shows very positive numbers” he comments Cristina Colaiacovo, outgoing President of the Perugia Foundation: “In addition to improving all indicators, we managed to fulfill our most important mission, namely the preservation of heritage and its growth over time. Furthermore, 2023 was a decisive year for the history of the Perugia Foundation. First of all, we were able to consolidate and experience the effects of the rebranding activity implemented on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of 2022. A change of name, logo and image which symbolized a more general transformation of our way of being: Fondazione Perugia is not no longer just a provider body, but a multifaceted reality capable of catalyzing energies and activating positive processes. A particularly demanding challenge if we consider the international context of polycrisis in which we are immersed.”

The May 7 the Steering Committee will elect the new President of Perugia Foundation.
