A doubly positive result achieved by the City of Andria in the year 2023. From January 1st to December 31st, in fact, the percentage of separate waste collection stood at 75.27, the highest percentage among the Municipalities of Puglia. This was communicated by a managerial determination dated 16 April of the Department of Environment, Landscape and Urban Quality – Waste Cycle and Reclamation section of the Puglia Region. The determination, in addition to acquiring the data validated by ARPA Puglia, proceeds at the same time as determining the special tax for landfilling (the ecotax) of undifferentiated waste due for the year 2024, correlated precisely to the percentages recognizing the expected reduction: Andria , and this is the second positive fact, it receives a 20 percent reduction in the amount of the tax and the 2024 ecotax – equal to 15.49 euros per ton, will be reduced to 3.098 euros per ton.

This benefit will also be reflected in the quantification of the 2024 TARI, the amounts of which are being determined.
«The work of consolidating a high percentage of separate waste collection is progressing – explains the mayor Giovanna Bruno – which sees citizens collaborating, in the face of those who continue not to respect the waste disposal rules, nor public places, nor urban decorum. and against whom daily actions of identification and repression are carried out. On the environmental issue – adds the mayor – we are aligned with all municipal sectors because it is a battle of civilization as well as a strategic commitment, oriented towards improving individual and collective well-being”.
